OBJECTIVES: The project aimed at preservation of cultural and historical heritage and promotion of cross-border tourism by adapting the historic farmsteads to contemporary needs in Užupis, Trakai, Lithuania and Zalese, Smargon district, Belarus.
For preservation of cultural and historical heritage and promotion of cross-border tourism the historic farmsteads in Trakai and Zalese manor in Smargon were adapted to contemporary needs. Two halls (White Hall and Library) of the Uzutrakis Manor were equipped and adapted for concerts and conferences. Based on the historical photos the Louis XVI style furniture was produced, a top class concert piano was purchased..
The Palace Hall was restored in Zalese Manor, Smargon District. It looks now as original, when it was owned by the nobleman and composer Mykolas Kleopas Oginskis in the nineteenth century. The Hall has been adapted for concerts by installing specially designed furniture, a piano and equipping the make-up and fitting rooms.
Two concerts of the Lithuanian and Belarusian performers, a scientific conference and joint events were held in both renovated Manor Houses. The joint tourism route "From Zalese towards Uzutrakis" was created.
