PROBLEM: Across Europe the unemployment rate among young people under 25 remains high. Entrepreneurship learning adresses the challenge of youth unemployment thus meeting the goals of Lisbon strategy for Growth and Jobs. However, in Lithuania and Belarus social entrepreneurship is not considered a part of youth education and training in formal institutions. Therefore, young people do not posses attitude, skills and knowledge to recognize opportunities for creating social and economic added value and undertake actions targeted to use these opportunities.
OBJECTIVES: The project aims to promote youth social entrepreneurship and creativity and encourage youth employment in the Lithuanian and Belarusian border regions as an asset for local economic development and territorial competitiveness.
The methodology and training programme on youth entrepreneurship and creativity was developed, called “Social entrepreneurship and creativity”. Trainings were carried out for 15 youth consultants from Lithuania and 10 from Belarus.
Consultations on entrepreneurship were organised for youth. The international youth social entrepreneurship summer camp was held, which attracted 75 participants. Youth entrepreneurship conference with 125 participants was also organised.
12 social entrepreneurship ideas were developed.
